What does “LEISURE” mean to Sojitz?
Building Local Communities
through the Shopping Center Business
What better place to enjoy an entire afternoon than at a shopping center,? Sojitz currently operates 7shopping centers across Japan. Sojitz often oversees everything from initial development to management of the center’s operations, including tenant selection, building management, and event promotion. Recently, Sojitz’s Pieri Moriyama renovation project in Shiga Prefecture has garnered attention as the only shopping center in Japan to include a zoo. We focus on increasing the shopping center’s appeal to maximize customer satisfaction.
Sojitz also supports the expansion and operation of convenience store businesses overseas.
Sports and Food, Too!
In 1977, Sojitz was the first company in Japan to distribute products manufactured by the now world-renowned brand, Nike. The concept and design of Nike shoes caught Sojitz’s attention even before they became the top-ranking brand they are today.
Sojitz also handles sneakers by the British brand, Admiral. We developed our own marketing strategy which emphasized the brand’s British identity, which led people in their early 20s to embrace the brand. Sojitz distributes not only sneakers, but also a wide-variety of Admiral-brand products including bags, clothes, and sporting goods.
Additionally, we are involved in the wine business, selling several hundred varieties of wine imported from quality wine producers. Sojitz is also assisting Japanese food service companies moving into Singapore as part of a larger project to bring Japanese food services overseas.
